Real waterways. Another London.
London’s rivers
Follow the water beneath the stories. Choose a river on the map or in the directory to open its file.
Choose a reading setting before filtering by book. These are selected connections already indexed here, not an appearance-by-appearance concordance. The milestones reflect available notes, not every novel. Comics, short fiction and undated affiliations require “Show all”. Other pages and external links have their own spoiler policies.

Historic routes are indicative, not surveys of today’s sewers. The extract may have gaps; Effra and Counter’s Creek have only short mapped sections. Black Ditch is a reference point at Limekiln Dock, not a river line. Lines do not imply public access. Never enter culverts, drains or sewers.
The river directory
The same 15 waterways, without needing to operate the map. Book links and fan-reference sources may contain spoilers.
About the map
River lines are a dated extract of OpenStreetMap waterway geometry, not hand-drawn guesses. The extract selects ways intersecting 51.30–51.72° N and 0.55° W–0.30° E (their endpoints may extend beyond this area); it does not include the whole Thames or Lea catchments. Nearby connected channels and historical reconstructions may be included in the source mapping.
For present-day rivers, a dashed segment means OpenStreetMap tags it as covered or in a tunnel. An unmarked segment is shown as a mapped channel, not a guarantee that it is visible or accessible. Lost-river overlays use a separate dotted style throughout: historical channels and modern drainage do not necessarily coincide.
Book connections are a selective fan index, not a record of every mention or every character appearance. Real geography and fictional personifications are presented separately. This is an unofficial fan map, not an official series map or a navigation service.
River geometry and base map © OpenStreetMap contributors. Geometry is available under the Open Database Licence: download the map’s river data. Report an OpenStreetMap issue. Mapping library: Leaflet.
Privacy: the map loads Leaflet from unpkg and visible map tiles from OpenStreetMap. These services receive ordinary connection information such as your IP address. We do not request your location or offer offline tile downloads.
The river courts
A relationship guide, separate from the real-world drainage network. It follows the secondary fan index (spoilers); individual pairings still need book-level verification.
